Teams Chat and Communication
o Chat Basics:
Chat is at the center of everything you do in Microsoft Teams. From individual chats with just one other person, to group chats and conversations in channelschat has you covered.
The followingare the first things to know:
You start one-on-one and group chats the same way: by selectingNew chat
at the top of your chat list.

Once youve selectedNew chat
and entered a persons name, compose your message in the box at the bottom of the chat.
To open formatting options, selectFormat
beneath the box where you type your message.
When youre ready, selectSend
or pressEnterto start the chat.
o File Sharing:
To share a file in a chat message:
1. Go to Teams and select Chat.
2. Open the chat conversation you want to share a file in.
3. Select Attach file beneath the compose box.
4. Select OneDrive or Upload from my computer, depending on where the file is located.
5. Select the file and then select Share or Open.
This will upload a copy of your original file.
You may also call people directly from a chat using the
Audio call
button in the top right. This call behaves similar to a meeting and offers all of thesame tools.

Manage Notifications:
To manage yournotifications, selectSettings and more
atthe top right of Teams, then selectSettings
>Notifications and activity
.
