Faculty and Students- Camera and Microphone Settings in Blackboard Collaborate / Zoom

 

**NOTE: This article is specific to the Chrome browser. The steps may be slightly different in the browser you are using. If you are using a MAC, you may need to go into System Preferences-- Security and Privacy-- Security tab-- then allow Chrome access to your Microphone and Camera in addition to the steps below.**

 

1. Navigate to your Blackboard Collaborate or Zoom web session. If you are using Blackboard Collaborate, and you see this error, you may need to adjust your internet browser settings to allow the site access to your camera or microphone. Your device may or may not have these built in.

 

 

 
2. Click the lock symbol at the top to the left of the URL box.

 

 
3. Click site settings.

 

 
4. Click the drop down arrow next to microphone and camera, and click allow.

 

 
5. Reload the collaborate page.
