Online Virtual Meeting Space using Microsoft Teams

 

Suggested use for Instructors:

  1. Use a recurring meeting for your class section, and schedule the meeting for the days and times the classes meet.
  2. Post the link to the Teams meeting in a Blackboard announcement.
  3. Review Microsoft Teams getting started videos including “Manage meetings”.

 

Prepare your Students for joining a MS Teams Meeting:

  1. If connecting to the Teams Meeting using a mobile device (phone, tablet or IPad) the Microsoft Teams mobile app is needed.
  2. Click the "Join Microsoft Teams Meeting" from within Blackboard to join the teams meeting
  3. Review the tutorial “Join a Teams meeting” from “Manage meetings” for additional ways to join the meeting.

 

How to create the meeting and link to a Blackboard Announcement

  1.  Login to your mc3.edu college email via the web
  2. Navigate to the calendar using the  icon 
  3. Select the New event
    1. Enter a title: 
      1. Enter your course section
    2. Invite attendees
      1. This can be left blank
    3. Dates and Times and repeat
      1. Set this to the dates and time your course would meet
    4. Location
      1. Select Add online meeting, then select Teams Meeting
    5. Select Save
  4. After the event is saved you can open the calendar item and copy the body of the event including the "Join Microsoft Teams Meeting"
  5. Create a Blackboard Announcement and paste the meeting information into the message of the announcement
