Sending an encrypted email to an external email address

 

Faculty and staff can send encrypted email to accounts outside the @mc3.edu domain by using the Encrypt feature in Outlook.

 

This can be done by starting a new email, selecting Options in the top ribbon, and then opening the Encrypt function.

You will then choose "Montgomery County Community College (example@mc3.edu) and then you may select the level of encryption the email will require. Descriptions for each level will be listed below:

 

Level of Encryption Description
Encrypt-Only

Encrypt-Only - This message is encrypted. Recipients can't remove encryption.

Permission granted by: example@mc3.edu

Do Not Forward

Do Not Forward - Recipients can read this message, but cannot forward, print, or copy content. The conversation owner has full permission to their message and all replies.

Permission granted by: example@mc3.edu
