Searching OneNote/Class Notebook - Online Version

One of the advantages of using OneNote is how quickly you can search through all of your notes to find what you're looking for. This article will explain how you can search for content within the online version of OneNote.

1. Login to the portal and navigate to the Quick Links drop down menu, select the Office 365 icon..

2. You will now see the Office 365 dashboard. Click OneNote.

3. Click the Class Notebook tab. Then click the Class Notebook where you want to search for content.

4. Locate the search box. There will be a small magnifying glass icon indicating the search box area. Click the small arrow next to the magnifying glass. Determine if you want to search for content on a page (Ctrl + F) or a section (Ctrl + E)

Note: The default option for searching content is searching on a page. You are unable to search for content in all of your notebooks in the online version of OneNote.

5. Once you have determined where you want to search for content, use your mouse to click inside the search box to begin searching for a topic. A list of results will automatically begin to populate below the search box. Use the up and down arrows to scroll through the results and to navigate to where you want to view the content that you have searched.
