Some users reported receiving an "Error 404" message when attempting to open Office files (i.e. Microsoft Word file, PowerPoint file, etc.) in Blackboard when using Microsoft Edge. This is a known issue. There are 3 ways you can work around this issue until it is resolved. 1. Use a different browser such as Chrome or Firefox 2. Save the file link to open as a download 3. Adjust your Microsoft Edge settings to not allow Office files to open directly in your browser. This article will show you how to adjust your Microsoft Edge settings. |
1. Open Microsoft Edge. |

2. Select the three dots in the upper right-hand corner of your browser window. |

|
3. A drop-down menu will appear. Select Settings. |
|
|
4. Select Downloads from the navigation menu on the left. |
|
|
5. On the Downloads page, select the toggle to turn OFF the option for Open Office files in browser. |
|
|
6. Once you have toggled this setting OFF in Microsoft Edge, any time you select an Office file in Blackboard it will download via your browser. |
