Faculty - Creating Graded Flipgrids

Faculty - Creating Graded Flipgrids

Flipgrid is considered a third-party tool or a tool that is not integrated with Blackboard. In order to setup Flipgrid's as graded discussions you will need to manually create a Grade Center column in your Blackboard Grade Center that can be used for grading student videos posts in Flipgrid.

1. Create your Flipgrid first and be sure to link it correctly in your course for students to access. For directions creating Flipgrid's and adding Flipgrid's to your course, please view the following directions:

Faculty - Flipgrid: Setting up Groups and Topics

Faculty - Flipgrid: Adding Flipgrid Topics to your Blackboard Course

2. Navigate to your course in Blackboard.

3. Under Course Management, click Grade Center then Full Grade Center.

4. Click the Create Column button in the upper left corner.

5. Give the column a name that is similar or the same as the name of your Flipgrid.

6. Enter the point value for the Flipgrid.

Note: Select the Category if you are using a Weighted Total.

7. Click Submit when you are finished.

8. The Grade Center column you manually created will be at the end of the Grade Center.

Note: You can move the column where you want in the Grade center by selecting the Manage tab in Full Grade Center and then Column Organization.

9. You will need to navigate to Flipgrid to view student video submissions and manually input the grade into the grade center column you created.
