Highlight Content in OneNote/Class Notebook - Online Version


OneNote is organized into Notebooks, Sections, and Pages. On different pages, you may be able to use the highlighting tool to highlight important text. You can highlight content in two different ways in the online version of OneNote. This article will show you how to highlight content in your notebook.



1. Login to the portal and navigate to the Quick Links drop down menu, select the Office 365 icon.



2. You will now see the Office 365 dashboard. Click OneNote.



3. Click the Class Notebook tab. Then click the Class Notebook where you want to highlight content.




4. Click the Section.




5. Click the Page where you want to highlight content.




6. Use your cursor to highlight the text you want to use the highlighter on. From the Home tab, click the Text Highlight Color icon. Click the color you want to use to highlight the text. The text will then be highlighted in the color you selected.

7. You can also highlight text by clicking the Draw tab. Then click the Highlighter icon. Move your mouse down to the text you want to highlight and drag your mouse over the text. You can change the highlight color by clicking from a color in the Color toolbar. Adjust the highlighter thickness by selecting from a size from the Thickness icon.


Note: This highlight option is more of a free form option. When you highlight text, it will be highlighted according to the motion of your mouse.


Important: Be sure to click the Type icon in the Draw tab to take your mouse off the highlight option.
