Faculty - Creating Test Question Pools

Faculty - Creating Test Question Pools

When creating a Blackboard Test you can create question Pools. Pools allow you to pull questions from other Blackboard Tests in your course, create new questions, and publisher test pools (if available by your publisher).

This article will show you how to create a Pool of questions.

1. Under Course Management select Course Tools.

2. Select Tests, Surveys, and Pools.

3. Then select Pools

4. Select Build Pool

4. Give the Pool a name.

For example, if you want to create a Midterm using test questions from previous Tests, you may want to name the Pool, Midterm Question Pool.

You may provide a Description or Instructions if you wish.

Click Submit.

5. There are 3 options for creating questions in your Pool:

  • Create Questions: Create questions from scratch (multiple choice, true and false, etc.).
  • Find Questions: Find questions from other tests in your course.
  • Upload Questions: Upload/Import questions from your publisher (if applicable)

6. Once the questions have been added, enter a point value for the questions under Default Points or by using the textbox next to Points at the top of the question pool.

7. When you are finished adding questions to your pool you will now be able to add the Pool of questions to your Blackboard Test.

For additional and more detailed directions, please review the directions provided by Blackboard: Question Pools.
