Starfish Early Alerts

Once you have logged into Starfish follow the steps below to use the Early Alert feature of Starfish.

1. Click on Students tab - > My Students
2. You can search for a student two ways
  1. By Name
  2. By the Connection (course) that you have with the student
3. Once you have located the student, click on the Flag icon to create an alert for the student
4. Select the following;
  1. The type of flag that you would like to raise
  2. The class that you are raising the flag for
  3. Comment — add any comments you would like to this flag — the students will be able to see these comments
  4. Permissions — this will show you who has permissions to view the flag that you raised
  5. Two choices in the bottom right hand corner.  Never Mind and Save.  Click Never Mind if you choose to close the alert and does not send to the student.  Once you click “Save” will notify the people with permission to view the item and save to the student’s record
