Faculty - Students Reporting Respondus Error Message: "There is a problem with the settings for this exam."

 

Students may contact you regarding an error message they may receive ("There is a problem with the settings for this exam") on a test that requires the use of LockDown Browser. This occurs if you have recently made changes to that test. To fix the issue you will need to check for errors via the Respondus LockDown Browser dashboard. 

This article will show you how to check for errors on tests that require the use of LockDown browser. 

 

1. Under Course Management click Course Tools.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2. Select Respondus LockDown Browser.

 

 

 

 

 

3. Select the orange button in the lower right corner that says, Continue to LockDown Browser.

 

 

 

4. Locate the test or quiz in question or any tests or quizzes with a Fix It button.

 

 

5. Click the Fix It button to resolve the issue. 

The test or quiz is now accessible to students.
