Faculty - Blackboard Date Management Tool

You can use the Date Management tool to easily adjust the dates of all content available in your course, assignments, tests, discussions, blogs, wikis - any of your course content. You can choose to adjust the dates automatically, or you can adjust them individually from one location. This knowledge base article will show you how to reset the dates on your previously created content so you can reuse your content for the next semester.

Navigate to the Control Panel > Course Tools > Date Management. The following displays.

Date Management - SELECT DATE ADJUSTMENT OPTION screen shot

You have the option to adjust the dates automatically or each date individually.

  • Selecting the course start date (automatically)
  • Adjusting by the number of days by shifting all dates by a specific number (automatically)
  • Listing all of your course dates for review (individually)

Selecting a Course Start Date

Select the start date from the previous semester and then select the start date for the new semester. In this example, Wednesday 1/17/18 was the start date of the previous semester and Wednesday 8/29/18 is the start date of the new semester.

Adjust by Number of Days

If you know the number of days that you need to shift the dates for your course content, you can use this option. Type the number of days you want to adjust all the dates in the course by. This change is based on the dates that are currently set for each item in the course, not today's date. For example, if you adjust the number of dates by 30 days, then an assignment that was previously due on September 30th would now be due on October 30th.
