Faculty and Students - Recording a Blackboard Collaborate Session


In this article you will learn how to record a Blackboard Collaborate session. You will only need to record if this is required by your Instructor. 

Note: This option must be set by your instructor. If you are supposed to record a session and you do not see this option please contact your instructor. 


1. Click the link provided by your Instructor to enter the Blackboard Collaborate session.   
2. In the upper left corner, click the 3 lines.





3. A pop-up window will appear. Click Start Recording.






4. A message will appear on the upper right side of the screen letting you know the session is being recorded. 






5. When you are finished recording, click the same 3 lines in the upper left corner again. 



6. Then click Stop Recording






7. A message will appear in the upper right corner letting you know the recording has stopped and that it is safe to exit.

Your instructor will be able to access the recording from their Blackboard Collaborate Ultra access.
