Creating Accessible Microsoft PowerPoint Presentations



*A PowerPoint file can be made 508 compliant by saving it as a Word document. Simply follow the procedure below.


1. Click File  Image of export option in PowerPoint to export as handouts   
2. Click Export
3. Click Create Handouts under the Export options
4. Click Create Handouts
5. Click the Outline Only option to save only the text from the slides.  Image of options for creating handouts in PowerPoint. The option for Outline Only is highlighted with a red box. 
6. Click Ok
7. Alternatively, you can use "File" -> "Save As" and change the Save Type to "Outline/RTF"  Image of Save As dialog box in PowerPoint. Save As Type area is set to Outline and highlighted with a red box.
