Creating a Rule for Secure File Transfer (SFT) Notifications

The following steps should be followed once you receive a notification from the Secure File Transfer (SFT) system. These instructions will assist you in creating a rule that will automatically move all Enrollment Services secure message notifications into a mail folder (or trash) of your choosing.

  1. Open Outlook client
    • Instructions may vary if using the Outlook Web Client
  2. Right-click on the notification
    • The message will appear to come from the email address the student enters when submitting followed by <sft@mc3.edu> (i.e. jdoe123@gmail.com <sft@mc3.edu>)
    • The subject of the message will be prepended with [EnrollmentServices]
  3. Select Rules > Create Rule...
  4. In the 'When I get e-mail with all of the selected conditions' section
    • Check Subject Contains
    • Remove all text except [EnrollmentServices]
  5. In the 'Do the following' section
    • Check Move the item to folder:
    • Click Select Folder button
    • Choose the folder you wish to store these emails.
      • You may also click the New... button to create a new folder.
    • Click OK
  6. Click

The rule has been created. In this example, all message that contain [EnrollmentServices] in the subject will be automatically moved to the Archive folder
