How to assign a midterm grade if the survey has closed
If a faculty member missed the deadline for reporting midterm progress, they should do the following:
- Contact their dean to report missing the deadline
- Perform the following instructions
|1. Log into your portal and click on the Starfish button on the right||
|2. Access Students along the top of your screen and then select My Students.||
|3. Make sure your connection is set to the proper course selection. You can also select “All my
students” if you want to see all your students at one time.
|4. You can then select the student(s) for which you have concern or which to offer praise. You may
select more than one student at a time, as long as you want them to receive the same
notification. You can then select either the flag button (if you have a concern) or the kudos
button (if you wish to offer praise).
|5. You can then choose to assign someone one of the following midterm grades. Remember,
whichever one you select ALL the students you have checked will receive the same notification.
a. S – Exemplary Work at midterm
b. U – No longer attending
c. U – Academic Performance
d. U – Attendance reasons
e. U – Not meeting course expectations
f. U – Participation
|6. You can then press save and an email will be sent from the Student Success Center to the
student. Advisors will be following up with anyone who receives a U for no longer attending or a
U for Academic reasons.
|7. You can then return to your class list and choose other students for a different midterm grade,
