How to Change your Network Password on Mac

The following instructions demonstrate changing your password on OS X 10.10 (Yosemite) but are smiliar on other versions of OS X.

NOTE: Please be sure to work through these steps while on campus and connected to the College network. 

1.  Click on the Apple in the upper left corner and click System Preferences  
2.  Click Users & Groups  
3.  Highlight your user account and click Change Password
4.  Enter your old password, then your new password twice and a password hint if you choose (Please don’t make this your password!) and click Change Password  

If you are prompted to also change your Keychain password, please do so. Otherwise, you will be prompted to enter your Keychain password (which will be your old password).  

 

Password requirements are: 

  • 8+ characters in length
  • 1 or more uppercase letters
  • 1 or more lowercase letters
  • 1 or more numbers OR special characters
  • Cannot be any of your last 4 passwords
  • Cannot contain your  first name, last name,  or  username

How to Update your Wireless Password on Mac

This should be done after changing your password.

1.  Click on the Apple in the upper left corner and click System Preferences  
2.  Click on the “Network” icon  
3.  Select the “Wi-Fi” network  
4.  Click the “Network Name” dropdown and select the “Join Other Network…” option  
5.  In the “Network Name” field, enter MC3SECURE .  Make sure you use all capital letters        
6.  In the “Security” field, select the “WPA2 Enterprise” option
7.  In the “Mode” field, select the “Automatic” option
8.  In the “Username” field, enter MCCC\<your_username>
9.  In the “Password” field, enter your new password
10.  Click the “Join” button
11.  Click the “Apply” button

How to Change your Network Password on Windows 7 & 10

NOTE:  Please be sure to work through these steps while on campus and connected to the College network.

1.  Simultaneously press Ctrl+Alt+Del to access the Control Alt Delete screen
2.  Click on "Change a Password"  
3. Your username should be displayed in place of "LawUser"     
4.  Enter your current password in the "Old Password" box, then enter your desired new password in both the "New Password" and "Confirm Password" box
5. Click the arrow or hit enter

Password requirements are: 

  • 8+ characters in length
  • 1 or more uppercase letters
  • 1 or more lowercase letters
  • 1 or more numbers OR special characters
  • Cannot be any of your last 4 passwords
  • Cannot contain your  first name, last name,  or  username

How to Change your Password on the Portal

Follow this guide if you're using a personal computer. If you're a college owned Mac, click here . If you're using a college owned Windows PC, click here

1. Log into the Portal at the Montco Connect portal.
2. At the top of the page, search for "Change Password"   
3. Choose "Change Password" and you will receive the following form.

Password requirements are: 

  • 8+ characters in length
  • 1 or more uppercase letters
  • 1 or more lowercase letters
  • 1 or more numbers OR special characters
  • Cannot be any of your last 4 passwords
  • Cannot contain your  first name, last name,  or  username

How to Update your Wireless Password on Android Devices

 

This should be completed after changing your password either on the portal or on your college owned computer.

Please note that not all Android devices are the same and the below instructions may vary by device. Alternate options have been listed to attempt to be more inclusive

1. Tap the "Menu" or "All Apps" button  
2. Tap the "Settings" button  
3. Tap the "Wi-Fi" option. This may be under "Wireless & Networks" or the "Connections" tab  
4. Tap and hold the "MC3SECURE" option until a menu appears. Then tap the "Modify network" option  
5. Update the "Password" field with your new password and tap the "Save" button

How to Update your Wireless Password on Apple iOS Devices

This should be completed after changing your password either on the portal or on your college owned computer.

This includes iPhone and iPad.

 

1.  Tap the "Settings" icon  

2.  Tap the "Wi-Fi" option

3. Tap the "Other..." option to add a new network
4. In the "Name" field, enter  MC3SECURE  Make sure you use all capital letters.

5. Tap the "Security" field and choose the "WPA2 Enterprise" option. Tap the "Other Network" button to go back.

6. In the "Username" field, enter  MCCC\<your_username>

7. In the "Password" field, enter your new password
8. Tap the "Join" button

How to Update your Email Password on Android Devices

This should be completed after changing your password either on the portal or on your college owned computer.

Please note that not all Android devices are the same and the below instructions may vary by device. Alternate options have been listed to attempt to be more inclusive.

1.  Tap the "Menu" or "All Apps" button  
2.  Tap the "Settings" button  
3. Tap the "Accounts" option. Alternatively, this may be located under "Accounts & Sync" or the "General" tab.    
4. Tap the account for your College email account (Usually under Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync)

5. Tap the "Account settings" option, followed by the "Incoming settings" option. 

Alternatively, tap the "Account settings" option, then the name of the account, followed by the "Server settings" option.

Alternatively, simply tap "Settings" if it is available.

 

 

6. Tap the "Incoming settings" option if necessary.

 
7. Update the "Password" field with your new password. Tap the "Next" or "Save" button

How to Update your Email Password on Apple iOS Devices

This should be completed after changing your password either on the portal or on your college owned computer.

This includes iPhone and iPad.

 

1. Tap the "Settings" icon

2. Tap the "Mail, Contacts, Calendar" option

3. Tap the account for your College email account
4. Tap the "Account" option

 

5. Update the "Password" field with your new password. Tap the "Done" button.
