Faculty - Modify Survey Options in Blackboard
Modifying survey options allow you adjust the survey due date, number of attempts, presentation of questions and more. This article will show you how to modify survey options for surveys in your Blackboard course. |
1. Locate your Survey you created in Blackboard and click the gray down arrow. Then click Edit the Survey Options. |

2. You will now be taken to the Survey Information page. This is where you can modify the survey directions and options for taking the survey.
Verify that the name you gave your survey is what you want it to be. Determine if you would like the survey to open in a new window. |

3. Under Survey Availability determine if you want the following options:

4. Under Survey Availability Exceptions determine if you want the survey to be available for a specific User or Group.
Note: This is not a required field. |

5. Under Due Date, determine the survey due date and time.
You also have the option to determine if you do not want to allow students to start the survey if the due date has passed. If you do not check the box next to this option and you have added a due date then students will still be able to take the survey, but it will appear in the Grade Center as Late. |

6. Under Show Survey Results and Feedback to Students determine how and when you want students to see their results.
By default, After Submission is selected. You can choose from other options as well from the drop down menu. Determine if you want students to see the status of the survey and if they are able to see the answers they selected. |

7. The last step is to determine the Survey Presentation.
Determine if you wants the survey questions to be displayed as:
You can also decide if you want to allow students to backtrack or not by checking the box next to Prohibit Backtracking. Check the box next to Randomize Questions if you would like the survey questions to be in a random order for every student taking the survey. |

8. When you are finished, click Submit. |
