Faculty - Creating a Zoom Meeting in your Course
Zoom is a web-based video conferencing tool that is available for use via your course in Blackboard. This article will show you how to create a Zoom meeting in your course.
Note: It is recommended that faculty create Zoom meetings from their course in Blackboard.
|
1. Click the Zoom tool link you created in your course navigation menu |

|
2. Click on Schedule a New Meeting |

|
3. Give your meeting a Topic |

|
4. Enter When and Duration |

|
5.Select Video, Audio, and Meeting Options
- Host video: Start meetings with the host's video on.
- Participant video: Start meetings with the participants' video on.
- Telephone and Computer Audio: Participants can join by telephone or by using their computer's microphone/speaker or headset.
- Require a password when scheduling new meetings: A random password will be generated when scheduling a meeting. Participants need to enter the password to join the meeting.
- Join before host: Allow participants to join the meeting before the host joins. If disabled, participants can only join after the host starts the meeting.
- Mute participants upon entry: Automatically mute all participants when they join the meeting. The host controls whether participants can unmute themselves.
- Enable waiting room: Allows the host to control when a participant joins the meeting. If the Waiting Room option is enabled, join before host will not work for that meeting.
- Recording the meeting automatically: allows the host to start local recording or cloud recording automatically. It is recommended that recordings are saved to the cloud.
- Alternative Hosts: The alternative host option allows you to schedule meetings and designate another licensed user on the same account to start the meeting or webinar if you are unable to.
