Faculty - How to guide students to technology support


You may find it appropriate in your classroom to create an announcement in Blackboard during the first week of class that provides students with important technology resources. A sample announcement has been provided below and may be copied into your classroom. 

Sample Announcement

As a student at Montgomery County Community College you will find times where you may need additional technical support. Please record the important information below in a place that is easily accessible for you.

Contacting the Help Desk for technical issues is the fastest way to get answers or be directed to the appropriate resource. For questions about assignments or content in your classroom please reach out to your instructor. 

Technical Help Folder

Another way to provide students with technical assistance is to create a folder in your Blackboard course that contains resources related to technical support. In additional to providing the Help Desk information in the announcement above, you may wish to provide some of our KnowledgeBase articles. You can pick out your own articles at or link the articles suggested below.

Including a section in your syllabus for important technical help information can help students get the support they need. You may choose to include the Help Desk information above or some of the articles linked above.
