Common Account Lock Causes

 

MC3 faculty and staff accounts will lock if an incorrect password is entered repeatedly within a short time frame. This is typically related to a device the connects to the college wifi network or email system that has not been updated after you recently changed your password. 

Take a moment to think about all of the technology that you use. This would include college issued laptops (Windows or Macbook), college issued tablets or smartphones, AND also personal devices of the same type (laptop, tablet, smartphone). 

Have you recently updated the password used to connect to college email or the college wireless network on each of those devices? If not, we can help you to determine which device is causing the problem. Please bring each of the devices to the helpdesk and we can identify which device needs to be updated.
