Minority Student Mentoring Initiative (MSMI)
Alias: Male Minority Mentoring Program
Summary
MSMI is a student success initiative focusing to provide minority students with a support system designed to improve their success in coursework and completion. It is a voluntary program for student mentees and College personnel working as mentors.
Data associated with MSMI allows comparative assessment of student performance between participant and non-participant students, as well as before-and-after assessment for student mentees.
Data Model
Data must reflect distinct membership for both mentees and mentors and track the academic terms of active participation. Student and staff records are associated with the Campus Organization Code MMMP (a legacy from the initiative’s original name). Records encompass a Start Date, End Date, and Role.
Start Date: | Equal to the Term Start Date for the first Term the mentee or mentor is active. |
End Date: | Equal to the Term End Date for the last Term the mentee or mentor is active. |
Role: | Students are assigned as Mentee (MNT); staff are assigned as Mentor (MTR) |
