Faculty - Exporting and Importing Rubrics


A rubric is an assessment tool listing evaluation criteria for an assignment. Faculty members can create a rubric in one Blackboard course and then export and import the same rubric to a different course.

1. Go to the course with the Rubric.

2. Click Course Tools, then click Rubrics.


3. Locate the rubric you want to export and click the check box to the left of the rubric name

Click Export (at the top of the list or at the bottom of the list)


4. On the Rubric Export Settings page, leave the option to Export to Local Computer.

(this will allow you to save the exported rubric to your computer so you can then import it to the other course)

Click Submit

5. Click Download  


6. Save the rubric on your computer

1. Go into the course where you want to import the rubric.

2. Click Course Tools, then click Rubrics

3. Click Import Rubric (in the dark gray bar)  

4. Click Browse My Computer

Locate and click on the rubric you just saved then click Open

You will see the rubric listed next to Selected File

Click Submit
